Newsweek to Release Third Annual Green Rankings with Sustainalytics

NEWSWEEK magazine will release its third annual Green Rankings on Oct. 17.

Jul 21, 2011-- NEWSWEEK magazine will release its third annual Green Rankings on Oct. 17. In collaboration with research firms Trucost, Sustainalytics, and CorporateRegister.com, the magazine will once again evaluate the environmental performance of America's 500 largest publicly traded companies, and will expand this year to include the 500 largest companies internationally as well.

The Green Rankings assess companies based on a variety of environmental performance areas including greenhouse-gas emissions, water withdrawal, waste, emissions, and natural-resource use, and corporate environmental policies, programs, and initiatives globally. Additionally, the rankings include an assessment of each company’s reputation among sustainability professionals, to be conducted by CorporateRegister.com.

Last year's winner, Dell, topped a list that also saw Hewlett-Packard, Johnson & Johnson, Sprint, and Nike rank amongst the most green companies in America.

NEWSWEEK and its data partners will be reaching out to companies over the coming weeks.
