![]() | The report, commissioned by NCDO and prepared by Sustainalytics, assessed the positive impacts of 20 multinational corporations on the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). The participating companies include Air France-KLM, Ahold, Royal Dutch Shell, Akzo Nobel, ING Group, Phillips, Randstad, Unilever, BAM Group, ArcelorMittal, TNT, DSM, Arcadis, CSM, Crucell, SNS Reall, Vlisco, Dunea, and Colruyt Group en Olam International. The study revealed that these companies contributed to the MDGs through job creation, commercial activities as well as community involvement. Some 8.2 million people in developing countries benefitted from those multinationals' business operations and philanthropic activities. |
![]() | Corporate Social Reporting Initiative (June 2010) The Hennick Centre for Business and Law and Sustainalytics have submitted recommendations to the Minister of Finance on how the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) can begin to improve corporations’ disclosure of their social practices. In this report, the Hennick Centre and Sustainalytics recommend that the OSC clarify existing disclosure obligations to indicate the need to consider the materiality of social issues to investors’ decisions and long-term corporate performance. They also recommend that the OSC facilitate continued dialogue among relevant stakeholders in order to support a shift toward more standardized metrics and reporting in this area. |
![]() | Canadian Commercial Real Estate Sustainability Performance Report (March 2010) This report, released by Sustainalytics in association with the Real Property Association of Canada (REALPac) evaluates the ESG performance of 18 of Canada's largest commercial real estate companies and compares them to some of their international counterparts. The findings suggest that the Canadian commercial real estate industry is playing catch-up with respect to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues when compared to international peers. |
