The mass shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida in February 2018 has placed attention on the role that corporations and investors play in the firearms trade. In this report, Sustainalytics segments the industry’s 40 listed players based on their main products and markets, analyzes the extent to which these firms are represented in a basket of global ETFs and mutual funds, and compares the total returns of firearms companies that produce or sell assault weapons to civilians against the global equity market.
