In this Sustainability-Linked Loan (SLL) Opinion letter, Sustainalytics assesses the SLL and whether the loan aligns with the Sustainability-Linked Loan Principles. SLLs are general purpose corporate loans in which the terms of the loan are tied to the borrower’s ESG-related performance.
As part of the assessment, Sustainalytics conducts interviews and gathers information on the following:
- Alignment of the SLL with the company’s sustainability strategy
- The sustainability performance targets (SPTs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to the loan
- The company’s reporting on KPIs
- The company’s process to collect and review KPI data
