Morningstar Sustainalytics Submits ESMA Application
Sustainalytics B.V. (Morningstar Sustainalytics) has submitted its application to the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) for authorization as an ESG rating provider. The submission follows the firm's notification, in July 2026, of its intention to seek authorization under the European Union's new regulatory framework for ESG rating providers.
Under the EU ESG Rating Provider Regulation (EU) 2024/3005, ESG rating providers operating within the European Union are required to obtain authorization from ESMA to continue providing ESG ratings in the EU.

- Controversy Ratings
- Global Standards Screening
- Country Risk Ratings
- Low Carbon Transition Ratings
- Carbon Risk Ratings
- ESG Indicators
- Portfolio ESG Risk Ratings
- Portfolio Low Carbon Transition Ratings
- Portfolio Carbon Risk Ratings
- Portfolio Low Carbon Designation
